Bean2go Terms of Use (Drinkers)
Effective date: 5 November 2026
These terms apply when you use the Bean2go app or website to order from coffee shops. Coffee shops that sell on Bean2go sign a separate Seller Agreement.
1. Who we are (ECTA section 43)
- Full name: Technosult (Pty) Ltd, trading as Bean2go
- Registration number: 2006/031006/07
- Postal address: P.O. Box 1540, New Germany, 3620, South Africa
- Email: support@bean2go.co.za
- Website: bean2go.co.za
2. What Bean2go does
Bean2go is a marketplace. It lets you order and pay ahead at independent coffee shops ("Shops"), then collect without getting out of your car (drive-by) or at the counter (walk-up).
- The Shop makes and sells your drink. It is responsible for the drink, its quality, ingredients and allergens.
- Bean2go takes your order, collects your payment on the Shop's behalf, passes the order to the Shop and pays the Shop afterwards.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or older.
- Give accurate details. For drive-by orders, your car description must be correct so the barista can find you.
- Keep your password secret. You are responsible for orders placed from your account.
4. Prices and fees
- Menu prices are set by the Shop and include VAT where the Shop is VAT-registered.
- Each order has a R3.00 order-ahead fee charged by Bean2go. It is shown before you pay.
- The total you see at checkout is the total you pay.
5. Paying — no payment at the shop
All orders are paid in the app before the Shop starts making them. You never pay at the Shop. You can pay with:
- a card, through PayFast's secure payment page; or
- Bean2go credit — a prepaid balance you top up by card. Credit is deducted when you order.
Credit rules:
- Minimum top-up R50; maximum balance R1,000.
- Credit can only be used to buy from Shops on Bean2go. It is not a bank account, earns no interest, cannot be transferred, and does not expire while your account is open.
- If you close your account, we will refund unused credit to you on request (email support@bean2go.co.za).
6. Orders
- On the go (ASAP): the Shop has 3 minutes to accept. If it doesn't, the order is cancelled automatically and refunded in full.
- Scheduled: you may schedule a collection time within the Shop's opening hours, up to 7 days ahead.
- You can cancel an order until the Shop accepts it. For scheduled orders, you can cancel up to 15 minutes before the collection time.
- If the Shop rejects or cancels your order, you get a full refund to your Bean2go credit, usually immediately.
- Unpaid card orders are cancelled automatically after 30 minutes.
7. Collecting your order
- When your order is ready you'll see a 4-digit OTP (one-time pin). A new OTP is created for every order, so there's nothing to remember. Give it to the barista, who enters it to hand over your order. Don't share your OTP with anyone else.
- Drive-by: park where the Shop's collection note says. The barista brings your order to your car.
- Walk-up: collect at the counter.
- Try to arrive on time. The Shop isn't responsible for drinks going cold if you arrive much later than your chosen time. Uncollected orders are not refunded.
8. Location tracking
If you tap Directions / I'm on my way, the app shares your live ETA with that Shop, including while the app is in the background, until you arrive or the order ends. It's optional. See our Privacy Policy.
9. Problems with an order
If something is wrong (wrong drink, missing item, poor quality), tell the barista at collection or email support@bean2go.co.za within 48 hours with your order number. We'll work with the Shop to resolve it. This may include a refund to your credit or card.
Because drinks are perishable and made to order, the 7-day cooling-off right in section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act does not apply (section 42(2)). Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act are not affected.
10. Referrals, loyalty and promotions
Referral rewards, free coffees and loyalty stamps have no cash value. They can be changed or withdrawn, and may be cancelled if they are abused.
11. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the app: no fake orders, fraud, harassing baristas, reverse-engineering or attempts to break security. We may suspend accounts that do.
12. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Bean2go is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability for any order is limited to what you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the Consumer Protection Act.
13. Changes and law
We may update these terms and will tell you in the app about important changes. South African law applies. Disputes go to the courts of South Africa, KwaZulu-Natal Division, Pietermaritzburg.
